Turning a tiny bathroom into a luxurious space

Blog

If you have a tiny bathroom it can often feel cramped and anything but relaxing. However with a smart bathroom renovation, you can turn a small bathroom into a luxurious retreat. Here are some of your options.

Nix the tub

If your tiny bathroom currently has a child-size tub, it might be worth removing the tub. Bathtubs take up a lot of space, and if the bath itself is too poky to use then it's not adding value. By getting rid of the bath, the floorline can continue at the same level which creates a space that feels and looks larger. Even if you need to wash kids or dogs in the bathroom, you can use a temporary tub in the shower hob.

Clear shower screens

Not only do shower curtains easily get grimy and soap scummed up, again they create a visual break which can make a small bathroom seem even smaller. Instead, look at going for a clear shower screen or hob, which can make your small bathroom feel bigger. These screens also have a narrow profile which can be valuable in a tiny bathroom where every centimetre counts.

Deluxe tiling

Choosing the right finish and colour of tiling can help to give your small bathroom a luxe feel while making it seem bigger. An additional benefit is that -- since you have a smaller space to tile -- it can often be quite affordable to use a fancier style of tiling. Getting a light-coloured slightly reflective finish can help to make the bathroom feel bigger and more light filled.

Smaller profile fittings

There are a growing number of slim profile vanities and toilets suited to smaller bathrooms. By using smaller profile fittings you can increase the space between the fittings, which helps the bathroom to feel bigger. This can include toilets that directly mount to the wall and vanity units with a slim profile. These vanities are well set up to maximise storage space.

Lighting

Another thing that can make a small space feel larger and more luxurious is effective lighting. There are many great options that can help the area feel well-lit. You can also add focused lighting in important areas such as above the mirrors.

If you are looking to make the most of a small bathroom, it makes sense to talk to a small bathroom renovation specialist. They can give you specific advice based on your budget and the exact size of your bathroom.
