4 Reasons to Fit a P-Shaped Bathtub During Your Next Bathroom Renovation

Blog

For plenty of people across the country, there are few things more relaxing after a long day at work than sinking into a nice warm bath. With that in mind, the bathtub is going to be one of the most important things to consider during almost any bathroom remodel, and everything from the style to the amount of space in your bathroom is going to be impacted as a result of your final decision.

Of course, there are plenty of options out there, but one of the best is a P-shaped bath. Here are just four reasons why you should choose to fit one.

1. Style

P-shaped baths are straight at one end and then round out at the end where the taps and shower head are, with a rounded shower screen fitting against the curve to ensure that you can shower without splashing water all over the floor. The sleek curves and modern appearance make this tub particularly attractive, with many people preferring them to the traditional straight tub. They tend to work particularly well with modern bathrooms.

2. Space

When it comes to space, the benefits of a P-shaped bathtub are three-fold. Firstly, you'll find yourself enjoying more room to shower. Standing within in the rounded end, you'll have appreciably more space to move around while washing yourself without banging your elbows or feeling too confined, situations which can arise all to easily when showering in straight bathtubs. Secondly, P-shaped bathtubs work well in smaller bathrooms since they don't take up much more space but also remove the need for a separate shower cubicle and bathroom. Instead, you get both in one. Finally, things will seem more open since, while soaking in the tub, your eyes are naturally drawn towards the tap end of the bath, which is just where it will get larger.

3. Easy to Install

The problem with many more interesting bathtub styles is that they can often be quite hard to install. Sunken or whirlpool baths, for example, typically require existing pipework to be overhauled. That's extensive and expensive work, but it isn't something you'll need to worry about when you fit a P-shaped bathtub.

4. Easy to Bathe Children and Pets

Finally, P-shaped bathtubs are much better for anybody who regularly has to bathe their young children or pets. With more space at the tap end, it's easier to sit them down and shower them quickly. You'll feel safer bathing your small child and be able to keep a stronger hold over your pet with that extra space on offer.
